Tradovate is both a broker and a browser-based trading platform, and it's one of the two connections Qloner supports directly. Here's specifically how copy trading works when a Tradovate account is your leader, your follower, or both.
Connecting a Tradovate account
Qloner connects to Tradovate via OAuth - you authorize the connection through Tradovate's own login screen, the same flow you'd use to log into Tradovate itself. No Tradovate password is ever stored by Qloner; the authorization can be revoked from Tradovate's side at any time, independent of Qloner. It's the faster of Qloner's two broker connections to set up, usually a couple of minutes end to end.

Every order event on the leader account - entries, exits, stop and target modifications, partial closes - mirrors to every connected follower, sized by that follower's own copy ratio. This happens at the account level, not the chart level, so it doesn't matter whether you placed the original trade from Tradovate's own web platform, from NinjaTrader, or from TradingView (see those spokes in this pillar for how each connects underneath) - if it happened on your Tradovate account, it copies.
Tradovate as a follower
A Tradovate account can just as easily be the one receiving copied trades, with its own copy ratio and its own daily loss limit and profit target, independent of whatever account is leading. This is common when a trader's funded account sits on Tradovate but their evaluation or a second funded account is on Rithmic.
Multiple Tradovate accounts
Tradovate supports multiple accounts under one login, and Qloner lets you connect each one you want to use as a leader or follower individually - they don't have to share a copy ratio or risk limit just because they're under the same Tradovate login.
What you need before connecting a Tradovate account
- Your Tradovate account login (used only for the OAuth authorization screen, never stored)
- Confirm with your prop firm that this specific account is the one they've provisioned on Tradovate
- Decide leader or follower before connecting - a follower's Copy toggle should stay off until its ratio and daily loss limit are set
- If it's a follower, set its copy ratio and daily loss limit for its own size, not the leader's
