NinjaTrader Copy Trading: Mirroring Trades via Rithmic or Tradovate

NinjaTrader accounts run on either Rithmic or Tradovate underneath - and since Tradovate acquired NinjaTrader, Qloner also offers a dedicated NinjaTrader connection option using the same Tradovate OAuth flow. Here's how copy trading works either way.

NinjaTrader is a charting and order-entry platform that can run on more than one underlying account - a Rithmic account, or, since Tradovate's acquisition of NinjaTrader, a Tradovate-backed NinjaTrader account. Here's how each one connects to Qloner, and why it doesn't matter for copy trading either way.

Two ways a NinjaTrader account connects

If your NinjaTrader account runs on Rithmic, you connect it in Qloner the same way as any other Rithmic account - username, password, and an optional prop-firm selection (see the Rithmic spoke in this pillar). If your NinjaTrader account is Tradovate-backed - the case since Tradovate acquired NinjaTrader - Qloner offers a dedicated "NinjaTrader" option in the connector picker, which uses the exact same OAuth flow as connecting a Tradovate account directly.

What this means for copy trading

Every order you place from NinjaTrader's order ticket or chart trading arrives at Qloner exactly like any other order on the underlying account - it copies to your followers the same way a trade placed directly on Rithmic or on Tradovate's own web platform would. Nothing about using NinjaTrader specifically changes how copying works; it just changes what your screen looks like while you trade.

Which one is your account?

Check how the account was opened, not NinjaTrader's own settings screen: an account provisioned through a prop firm's Rithmic infrastructure connects via Rithmic credentials; an account opened directly with NinjaTrader connects via the dedicated NinjaTrader OAuth option. If you're not sure which, your prop firm or your NinjaTrader account details will say.

NinjaTrader as a leader or a follower

Either works the same way, regardless of which underlying connection your account uses. If your NinjaTrader account is the leader, every trade you place through it copies out. If it's a follower, copied trades land on the underlying account and simply show up in NinjaTrader like any other fill - you don't place them yourself.
