Futures Trading Platforms for Prop Firm Traders: The Complete Guide

How Tradovate, Rithmic, and the platforms that run on them - NinjaTrader, TradingView, ATAS, and more - fit together for prop firm traders, and what to know before connecting one as a leader or follower account.

Copy trading with Qloner starts with two direct broker connections - Tradovate and Rithmic - but almost nobody trades by staring at a bare order ticket. Most traders place their actual orders through a charting or execution front-end: NinjaTrader, TradingView, ATAS, or one of several others, all sitting on top of Rithmic or Tradovate's underlying account. This guide covers how those front-ends fit together with copy trading, what Qloner actually connects to versus what you trade on day to day, and what to expect from ProjectX, a newer platform Qloner doesn't support yet.

Two brokers, many front-ends

Qloner connects directly to exactly two things: a Tradovate account (via OAuth) and a Rithmic account (via broker credentials, with an optional prop-firm selection). Everything else - NinjaTrader, TradingView, ATAS, Sierra Chart, Quantower, and more - is a front-end that itself routes its orders through one of those two underlying connections. When Qloner copies a trade, it's copying the order event at the broker level, which means it copies correctly no matter which front-end placed the original trade.

Why the front-end you trade on doesn't change how copying works

A trade placed from NinjaTrader's order ticket and a trade placed from Tradovate's own web platform look identical to Qloner once they reach the broker - both are just an order on that account. This is worth understanding up front: connecting Qloner to your leader account is a broker-level connection, not a front-end-level one, so switching which charting platform you personally trade from never requires reconfiguring the copier.

Picking a platform is a personal or firm decision, not a copying decision

Which front-end you use is usually decided by two things: what your prop firm's account actually runs on (some firms hand out Rithmic credentials specifically for use with their own branded NinjaTrader or Quantower setup), and what you personally prefer for charting and order entry. Neither of those choices affects whether copy trading works - it only affects the broker connection underneath, which is what actually matters for Qloner.

What's covered in this pillar

The spokes below go one level deeper on each major platform: how Tradovate and Rithmic each connect specifically, how NinjaTrader, TradingView, and ATAS sit on top of them, what to expect from ProjectX before its integration ships, and a side-by-side comparison if you're still deciding which platform to start on.

How Qloner handles this

Qloner connects to your Tradovate or Rithmic account directly, so it copies every trade that account places - regardless of which front-end you used to place it. Every follower gets its own copy ratio, and its own daily loss limit and profit target, enforced independently. Qloner starts at $19.90/mo (billed yearly) with a 7-day free trial.
